We welcome Tarzie McLean on the show today where we navigate the vast landscape of mental health & psychedelics.  We discuss how the language we use around mental health or illness can be harmful, as well as how to understand terms that are now commonly thrown around, such as gaslighting, coping mechanisms, personal responsibility and belief patterns. We end by discussing how to approach working with psychedelics, how to understand set and setting, as well as the skills required to integrate and navigate the sensational experiences that inevitably come upon working with the plant medicines.

Tarzie has a Masters in Counselling Psychology and is an experienced therapist and advocate for bio-psycho-social-spiritual approaches to health. She has worked as a facilitator and consultant in health and wellness systems for over two decades. She is trained in psychedelic-assisted therapy and offers preparatory and post-experience psychedelic support and integration work as well as trauma-informed counselling through her private practice, Soul Compass Therapy www.soulcompass.info. Please navigate through her website if you’d like to connect with or work with Tarzie.

We’re glad you enjoyed the show! And it would help us if you’d please subscribe wherever you listen to your podcasts, leave an honest review on Apple Podcasts (this especially, helps us!) and share us with your friends and family.
